Dive Zone Whitianga’s popular dive vessel, the Mystery Machine needed a repower, here are the results after a complete fit out

Dive Zone Whitianga are a popular Diving Educator and run daily dive trips to the great dive spots right on the Coromandel’s door step including Mercury Islands, Alderman Islands, Cathedral Cove and the Marine Reserve.  This is what they had to say about the the Team here at Pacific Coast Marine & Diesel after the Volva Penta repower:

“We contracted Pacific Coast Marine Whitianga to repower our 12m Dive boat that took 18 Divers with 36 tanks fully loaded. We were running at an average of 12knots using an old Volvo KAD 43 with analogue gauges. This came fitted, running and we used that for a year. We quickly realized we needed more power and reliability as the 43 was a reconditioned unit but the stern leg we did put on brand new.
The complete fit-out took 5 weeks in total and the results have been amazing – it’s like a completely different boat! (In a good way) The team at PC Marine was excellent to work with; keeping us informed with regular progress updates. They were thorough and offered great advice and input throughout.
Now we run at 20knots with 18 Divers and 36 tanks, using about 40 liters an hour with the capability of running faster if needed, we now have the added advantage of increased safety and reliability, improved comfort, reduced environmental impact, better fuel economy, and higher performance.
Thank you PC Marine for transforming our Dive Vessel – The Mystery Machine.”
